NOS Studebaker 64 Challenger Script Emblem.

NOS Studebaker "President" script emblem. 

Used Studebaker "Champion" script emblem.  47-49 hood emblem.

Rough condition, has all pins.

Used Studebaker "Commander" script emblem. 47-49 hood emblem.

Fair condition, has all pins in tact.

Used Studebaker "Commander" script emblem.  Finish ok, some pitting. Missing all but 1 pin.

Used Studebaker "Lark" emblem. Good condition, all pins in tact.

Used "Studebaker" emblem. I believe this is from a 1952 Champion or Commander. Mounts on base of hood just above right grille.

Part # 296342  Fair condition, poor finish, all pins in tact.

"Golden" emblem from 56 57 58 Golden Hawk trunk lid.  Chrome, fair condition.  All pins in tact.

The car was purchased and brought to Chicago in the late 80’s.

The car was purchased in Chicago by person named on title in early 1994.  That owner drove it occasionally until 2009.

I bought the car in July 2011.

I have done the following:

• Cleaned all brake wheel cylinders, put in new fluid
• Installed new water pump
• Adjusted valves, installed new cover gaskets & grommets
• Cleaned out the gas tank and overhauled carburetor
• Installed a better used distributor
• Knocked out all freeze plugs, flushed out block and put in new plugs.  Also replaced the 3/8 pipe drain plugs
• Had radiator tested.  It flunked the test.

This car is a very good restoration project, 100% complete, or good driver with a little work. 

The car is very solid overall, frame solid, door posts solid, front floor board is "flakey" and a little thin.  Some rust in trunk corners and a little filler in front fenders. 

289 V8 with full flow oil filter.  Runs, drives and stops.  Automatic shifts well.  Power steering works fine. Radiator leaks like a sieve.  Engine has typical oil leaks.  Will probably need to be overhauled before you drive it long distances. 

This car will save you many hours of fighting rust, trying to get patch panels to fit, doing bondo work, getting doors to fit good and shut tight, running down trim molding etc. etc.  Anyone who has ever fought these issues when restoring a car or truck will appreciate the condition and relize what this car has going for it.

This car actually has only 32,000 miles.  It was wrecked in 1988 and purchased as a project vehicle.  It has been repaired over the years and stored inside. A good front clip was put on it by a professional body shop.  You cannot tell it was wrecked or repaired.  It has new fenders and hood, not repaired.  The dash was very cracked and has been replaced by a better, repaired dash.  All interior cloth and vinyl is tear-free. 

Items left to complete: Change oil, fill with coolant and replace fuel pump.  Re-install instrument cluster and center console. Paint and re-attach bumpers.
